Most business owners and marketers think, “email is dead.”
Which, to be fair, is like saying 2 + 2 = 5.
It just simply is not a true statement.
Email is “alive,” and is producing exponential growth and profits for businesses as we speak.
The problem is, those who think email is dead, or aren’t making the profits they should be making from email…
Are only experiencing this, because they’re missing out on this one crucial detail.
But, I’m about to pull back the curtain and reveal this little-known “secret” that makes all the difference when it comes to making a consistent multi-6, 7, even 8-figures from your email list.
In order to succeed today, you need to play by the new rules.
What are the new rules?
Well, think about it this way...
Let’s consider Instagram for example.
Currently, at any given time, there are roughly 1 billion active users each month.
Of those 1 billion active users, many are following and following more people.
As an example, let’s say an account is following 3,000 people...
Instagram isn’t going to have 3,000 people show up on that user’s newsfeed.
If they do, it’s going to be a boring experience for the user, and they likely won’t stay on the platform for long (not what Instagram wants, right?).
To counteract this, Instagram basically said, “well, let’s find out who they are actually engaging with, and we're only going to show them those people.” Right?
And this is very much how it works with email...
Inboxes are getting overwhelmed with WAY too many messages.
So, the Gmails, Yahoos, and AOLs out there are like:
“How do we protect our consumers’ inbox?”
“All of these email users are going to leave, start a new email account, and they will probably start with a different email service too.”
And that’s exactly what happened…
For example, let’s consider an AOL email user. If someone has an AOL account, they probably signed up for that in the 90s or early 2000s…
Realistically, no one is going to create a new AOL account these days.
However, AOL is still a huge portion of the email network making up over 1.5 billion of the 4 billion total email subscribers [Source: Statista].
That’s 37.5% of email subscribers using AOL.
What’s more, that 37.5% of email subscribers have 20 years of newsletters and products they get emails for.
Now if they’re all getting bombed with 20 years of marketing messages, and all of those messages got delivered to the main inbox…
When they receive an email from mom, their best friend, or favorite brand, it’s going to be on like page 3!
In other words... they will not see it.
That’s why platforms like, AOL, Gmail, and Yahoo said, “We got to make this a better experience.”
